This refit engagement for the Royal Malaysian Navy involved comprehensive restoration, servicing, and systems reliability improvements for two frontline offshore patrol vessels — KD Selangor and KD Perak.

Core Responsibilities

SCAMS Diagnostics & Restoration
Performed full-system diagnostics on critical Ship Control and Monitoring Systems, identifying legacy faults, intermittent sensor failures, and outdated control logic that impacted vessel readiness.
Executed hardware rectification, rewiring, module recalibration, and restored operational dashboards for engine room, auxiliary systems, and alarm consoles. -
Motorized Valve Maintenance & Service
Conducted a vessel-wide assessment of automated valves for propulsion cooling lines, bilge systems, fuel transfer networks, and firefighting loops.
Implemented mechanical servicing, actuator overhaul, limit-switch calibration, and pressure-line testing to ensure operational reliability across all mission-critical fluid systems.

Shaft Power Monitoring System (SPMS) Integration

Fleet-Wide Installation for Royal Malaysian Navy Vessels
Led the installation and onboard integration of Hoppe Marine’s MAIHAK Shaft Power Monitoring System across multiple active-duty platforms operated by the Royal Malaysian Navy.
Technical Scope

Mounted torque, RPM, and thrust measurement sensors along propulsion shafts—requiring precision alignment, vibration isolation, and shaft-line calibration. -
System Integration
Interfaced MAIHAK’s digital processing units with existing onboard control systems, bridge consoles, and engine room monitoring stations.
Integrated real-time power output, torque curves, and efficiency readings into the vessel’s operational data stream. -
Data Validation & Sea Trial Testing
Conducted load-step testing, shaft calibration runs, and endurance monitoring during sea trials to validate system accuracy under real operational conditions.

Beyond project-specific installations, my role also covered a wide range of general vessel electronics work across multiple Royal Malaysian Navy platforms. This included system upgrades, integration of new navigation and communication modules, and technical enhancements to improve mission readiness and operational reliability.
